19th Century Country French Bonnetiere from Normandie is in essence a petite armoire that is more versatile for efficient floor plans!  Hand-crafted from solid indigenous old-growth oak, it features the trademark chapeau de gendarme cornice atop a gracefully arched crown centered with a sculpture of a basket of flowers flanked by wildflower sprays.  The two doors below follow the arch of the crown and are carved with olive branches and finely molded around their entire permeter, with wildflower sprays appearing 2/3 of the way down.  The center stile features a wheat carving motif.  Gracefully scrolled apron and legs with scrolled feet provide support.  Each door is mounted to the case with full length steel barrel hinges, and open wide to reveal surprising storage within, enhanced by four shelves to create five surfaces perfect for keeping things organized.  Even the side panels received the attentions of the cabinetmaker, with two raised panels housed in chamfered frameworks.  An excellent example of rustic charm, perfect for the casual decor!
