19th Century Country French Vitrine from Normandie is the perfect choice to display keepsakes, heirlooms, or even as a diminutive bookcase for a study or home office!  Crafted from solid oak, it features the trademark chapeau de gendarme cornice under which appears a basket bursting with flowers in full relief flanked by bas relief depictions of wildflowers.  The same designs are carved into the top and middle sections of the cabinet doors below, framing the hand-rolled glass panes.  Two contoured panels at the bottom of the doors feature boldly rendered shells intaglio-style.  The doors are hung with steel barrel hinges, allowing wide opening and easy access to the adjustable shelving surfaces within, and a full width drawer with carved facade appears below for added storage opportunity.  The apron is scrolled all around, and on the front carved with a bold scallop shell motif flanked by foliates and cross hatching, with scrolled legs carved with acanthus fronds and escargot feet complete the look.
