19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Walnut Vitrine ~ Bookcase is the definition of understated elegance! Crafted during an architecturally austere era, it consists of a broad arched crown and subtly scrolled apron fitted with bun feet as its primary design features. Remarkably fine molded detail appears in abundance from the crown which includes a circular form at the pinnacle of the arch on the bonnet. The 3/4 glazed doors below are arched to follow the crown's contours, and consist of single long panes of the original hand-rolled glass for incredible character. One-quarter molded panels below allow one to discreetly store items at the bottom of the interior, which still boasts its original adjustable shelves! The fine walnut exudes luxury especially on the aforementioned lower door panels and especially each side. Extra shallow design is perfect for cozy rooms or high-traffic areas.
