Antique Country French Louis XV Corner Vitrine ~ Curio Cabinet was hand-crafted by the master artisans of Liege.  Utilizing indigenous old-growth quarter-sawn oak, they created a casework that uses mitered sides to create a projected effect out from the corner and realize more storage and display space than its measurements would normally suggest.  The handsome, double arched crown molding is centered with a classic asymmetrical shell and folaite centerpiece, overlooking the glazed bonnet and glazed mitered corners, each of which feature overlaid carvings of stylized shell and foliate designs atop the glass.  The upper door is segmented into six gracefully arched panes for elegant display, with several tiers of molding separating the upper section from the lower cabinet.  The lower cabinet continues the mitered side effect with complementary carvings, and the door itself is a wood-sculptor's work of art in a subtly complex framework, continuing the same motif theme.  Brass hinges and key guards add a nice touch, while the doors open to reveal abundant storage below and fine display space above complete with original shelving.
