Pair of 19th Century Flemish Renaissance Raised Vitrines ~ Bookcases represent a unique opportunity to create beautiful symmetry in any room, while providing an excellent venue for a prized collection, a grouping of books, or perhaps objets d'art!  Bold molded detail abounds from the crown on top to the lower apron, which is adorned with elongated Greek coin motif and a colonnaded apron trim, framed by bold plinth blocks with fluting.  Back to the top, the bonnet under the crown is lavishly carved with a colonnade effect detailed with fletching motif, and framed by three bold lions' heads in full relief, each with a brass ring in their mouths.  The colonnade design even appears on the sides.  Under the bonnet, two arched doors continue the colonnade theme, and are carved with stylized foliates and pilasters framing the glass, which looks into the single shelf fronted with the same colonnade theme.  Under the lions' heads are pilasters with stylized shield, scepters and fluting serving as three framing pilasters, leading the eye down to the pair of drawers fitted with wonderfully detailed brass pendant pulls.  Each case is supported by massive urn shaped columns in front and large oak timbers in the back, all connected with cross pieces creating an incredibly stable base.  Bun feet complete the look.
