19th Century English Mahogany Bookshelf represents stylistic simplicity yet eminent functionality!  Three spacious shelves with rims around the sides and back keep your books in place, supported by four finely turned cornerposts that are topped with fluted finials and adorned with cast brass rosettes on top, while on the bottom are spoked cast brass wheels which makes this piece easily portable should one want to make the books more easily available in other parts of the room or home.  Such pieces were contrived for the burgeoning middle class as well as the affluent "old money" as books represented education, which required considerable amount of wealth to acquire in those days!  Hand-crafted from exotic imported mahogany for an understated elegance that lasts for decade after decade.
