19th Century English Neoclassical Painted Corner Cabinet ~ Bookcase is a splendid ode to the architecture of the ancient Greeks and Romans, with a subtle English influence!  Mitered corners project the piece out into the room, yet its impact on the floor plan is minimal due to utilizing otherwise unused corner space.  Fluted pilasters frame the facade with simply scrolled corbels leading the eye up to the double-molded crown embellished with diamond and block patterns, also fluted.  The geometric patterns of the glazed doors on the upper tier add an interesting English touch, and open to reveal a secondary framework painted to match the exterior with fan motifs in the upper corners and fluting on the sides.  The tongue-and-groove pine planks of the interior can be easily seen above and below, interspersed with three shelves total creating 5 surfaces.  In between the upper and lower tier is a single drawer with tailored molding and turned pull flanked by framed panels.  The lower cabinet doors also sport the turned pulls and are comprised of octagonal molding around recessed panels.  The entire affair was painted a lovely green somewhere between olive and bottle green shadings, which has achieved a lovely patina over the past century, making this piece truly special, and perfect for adding the finishing touch to your decor!
