19th Century French Gothic Revival Bookcase with Stained Glass is a stunning example of the genre, produced from solid oak on a scale large enough to impress, but not too large to fit in most any room.  The design is also space friendly, as the sides are only 15" deep, angling out at the center to the listed 19" depth.  The design features are timeless, with crenellated crown following the casework contours.  Bold molding detail defines the crown, and is used throughout the design.  The upper tier consists of a center that projects out with angled sides fitted with stained glass and including pierce-carved framework embellishment at the top of the center door.  A lovely full relief carved panel appears under the glass, flanked on each side with rosettes that are underneath the side glass works.  The glass projection is flanked on each side by tall, narrow cabinets affixed with finely detailed steel strap hinges and lockplate, which frame two stacked carved panels, each lavished with intricate Gothic-inspired designs in full relief.  All three upper tier cabinet doors open to reveal abundant storage with adjustable shelving.  The lower tier continues the themes, but at the center projection contains three exquisitely carved drawers fitted with elaborate lockplates, flanked on both sides by cabinets adorned with recessed arched panels filled with linenfold motif.  A bold, contoured base provides sturdy support.  Note the hand-hewn panel work on the back side!
