19th Century French Louis XIV Secretary ~ Bookcase in Stripped Oak is a stately work of architecture that will become the focal piece in any room!  The triple arched crown is boldly molded, and embraces the ovoid bas relief carvings of shell and foliates centered at the top.  The upper tier door frames are specially contoured to envelope the carved detail, and support 16 panes of old hand-rolled glass with a subtle green tint to allow viewing the interior with its adjustable shelving.  Just below the casework flares out to the size of the lower cabinet, and within the flared portion is a drop-down desk surface that, when opened, reveals plenty of space for laptop or tablet, hand-writing, and storage with cubby holes and drawers.  The desk surface is supported by two pull-outs that flank the full-width faux drawer facade centered with a key guard.  Below the faux drawer is a spacious cabinet with tastefully carved panels, and finally a sturdy base with corbel feet.  Finished in stripped oak to reveal the natural beauty and patina of the old-growth oak!
