19th Century French Napoleon III Period Louis XIV Bookcase is a masterpiece of the genre, with bold styling creating a magnificent presence for any setting!  The amazing triple arched crown provides an impressive three dimensionality overlooking the 12 panes of display afforded in the upper cabinet door.  An heraldic crest is centered on the crown, festooned with stylized shell and foliate motifs, with an elaborately contoured molded detail leading the eye down to the pilasters on each corner, which feature complementary motifs in full relief above and below, both flanking the aforementioned glazing with its original hand-blown, subtly green tinted glass.  Upon opening the upper door one discovers the craftsmanship continues, with amazingly contoured and beveled shelving designed to display the contents with the utmost style.  A molding tier separates the upper from the lower cabinet, which features similar pilasters on each corner with carvings at the top, and a finely molded door with raised and contoured panel which opens to reveal capacious storage.  support is provided by bun feet.  Even the panels on the back are solid oak and meticulously chamfered indicating the high level of quality and pride of craftsmanship!
