Set of Four 19th Century French Renaissance Upholstered Chairs combine ancient decorative motifs with time-honored craftsmanship to produce a set of which you'll be proud!  Sculpted from select old-growth oak, each chair features an heraldic crest at the top, flanked by elaborate foliate scrolls that cascade down and surround the entire cushioned, upholstered seat back.  The uprights consist of clockwise & counter-clockwise barley twist columns with rosettes above and below, topped with turned finials.  The counter-rotating theme of the barley twist motif continues with the stretchers and back legs below, with the front legs turned and adorned with rosettes.  The damascene upholstery is a wonderfully neutral coloration, and in very good condition.
