Set of four 19th century Renaissance Revival side chairs crafted in solid oak and conceived as part of the same Louis XIII style parlor suite as the matching sofa and armchairs. Their sculptural silhouettes are defined by spiral barley twist legs and stretchers, carved crest rails, and pierced backs with scrolling Renaissance ornament consistent throughout the ensemble.
Slightly higher in seat height than the sofa and armchairs, these four chairs were ideally suited for placement around a game table or occasional table within the room. Their proportions make them excellent table-side seating while maintaining visual harmony with the rest of the suite.
The oak displays a deep, time-softened patina that highlights the craftsmanship and reinforces the unity of the set.
Originally part of a complete 19th century parlor arrangement, these four chairs would have surrounded a game table while the sofa and armchairs formed the principal seating group. Together, the pieces create a refined and historically grounded interior setting.Upholstery is in serviceable condition and may be reupholstered as desired.
If you act fast, the original matching canape and pair of armchairs are still available as of this writing. See Related Products below left.
