Antique Hand-Carved Walnut Italian Renaissance Chandelier is a masterpiece of the wood sculptor's art!  Surviving with its original upper canopy, it features a matching acanthus plume cap atop the spiral barley twist central shaft festooned with fully laden grapevines.  The difficulty of carving the grapevines in the "valleys" of the barley twist spirals that gradually increase in diameter cannot be overstated.  Bounty of the earth motifs appear at the end of the finely carved double scrolled arms, supported by muscular angels encircling the boldly carved disc base below, centered with a pendant finial.  Such a work of art will immediately create a focal center for any room.  The extraordinary beauty of the seasoned European walnut only adds to its allure.
