19th Century Hand-Painted French Plate signed by Marie Branne is a remarkable work of the ceramicist's art!  Ever so slightly impressionistic in form, it features a scene played out thousand of times a day in meadows across the continent depicting a bird eyeing its next meal.  Thorns, thistles and wildflowers combine with the naturalistic greenery for a lovely effect.  Pie crust edge still shows some vestiges of the original gold bordering.
