Antique Delft Hand-Painted Blue & White Charger depicts the main cathedral in the storied city of Mechelen, now situated in the heart of Belgium.  The scene isolates the building without the surrounding structures to call attention to its timeless architecture.  The scene is surrounded by multiple concentric rings of foliate bordering.  Such works were usually displayed like artwork, but occasionally pressed into service for serving special guests!
