19th Century Black Forest Hand-Carved Hat Rack

19th Century Black Forest Hand-Carved Hat Rack is an example of decorative wall art that also serves a useful function!  A fallow deer buck is sounding the call with majestic head and antlers reared back to provide a visual focal center for the work.  The rest of the rack was carved to depict a branch of oak as it would naturally appear in the forest, and four wooden pegs carved to depict tips of antlers serve as the hangers.  Note the amazing detail in the carved representations of bark and leaves along its width.
