19th Century Directoire Style Marble Top Mahogany Console was first popularized during the lifetime of Napoleon Bonaparte, and represents a restrained classicism that remains popular even today!  Hand-crafted from exotic imported mahogany, it features tailored architecture with rectilinear form, and features rounded corners which when combined with its relatively shallow depth, makes it ideal for cozy spots or high traffic areas.  Luxuriously veined gray marble provides a neutral, carefree surface.  The drawers are outlined in quarter-round brass trim, then fitted with brass open rectangle pulls typical of the genre.  Fluted front legs are reeded at the base where all four legs are connected with a full width shelf.  Urn-shaped legs tipped with brass feet complete the look.
