19th Century French Louis XV Giltwood Marble Top Console is an amazing rendition of the style that glorifies the beauty of nature, emphasizing shell floral and foliate forms to an amazing degree of artistry!  The bowfront framework connects to the pair of double-scrolled legs then to the serpentine curves of the side aprons, with all three aprons exquisitely carved with stylized shell motif, centered with a Florentine fleur de lys adaptation above wildflowers suspended below with a cresting wave effect appearing just underneath the beautifully contoured and beveled rouge marble top.  Complementary carvings on the legs lead the eye down to the lower scrolled feet, each adorned with upturned acanthus plumes, with both legs connected with scrolls that meet in the center underneath another variation on the Florentine fleur de lys.  The gold finish has achieved a stunning patina over the decades, providing a rich opulent look that will create a visual feast in any room!
