Antique Gustavian Swedish Demilune Console

Antique Gustavian Swedish Demilune Console was hand-crafted with austere, tailored lines from solid elmwood.  The intriguing grain of the wood was allowed to shine forth through the finish, which retains a natural coloration very pleasing to the eye.  Such half-circle tables have been popular for centuries, providing a display surface or a convenient place to empty one's pockets depending upon one's whim.  The semi-circular top was formed from solid planks, as were the two apron sections which connect the three subtly tapered legs.  What an elegant way to be greeted upon arriving home!
