Antique Italian Wrought Iron and Marble Top Wall Console

Antique Italian Wrought Iron and Marble Top Wall Console is a superlative example of fine metal artistry with elaborate yet tasteful scrollwork appearing around the entire work.  A Florentine foliate motif appears at the center on the bowfront contour of the facade, surrounded by scrollwork that provides an attractive framework.  The serpentine sides emanate out from the front and display complementary scrollwork as well.  The leg supports are integral with the apron work, and contoured in a double-scroll design connected at the base.  Gold highlighting which has achieved a lovely patina provides beautiful highlighting.  The contoured and beveled marble top with its luxurious white veining on a gray background provides sublime carefree opulence.
