A graceful Empire style demilune console in mahogany, crowned with a richly veined St. Anne marble top.  The half-moon form gives the piece an elegant architectural presence, while the warm mahogany apron and lower shelf create a beautiful balance beneath the dramatic marble surface.
The center support is designed in the classical lyre form, one of the most beloved motifs of the Empire period, symbolizing music, harmony, and refined neoclassical taste.  It is reflected in the mirror backing of the piece, so fitted to allow ladies to check the status of their shoes and dress hems discreetly, plus to add reflected ambient light into the space.  Delicate metal strings and small turned details accent the lyre, adding charm and movement to the otherwise stately silhouette.  The demilune lower shelf repeats the curve of the marble top, creating a cohesive and beautifully proportioned design.
With its compact scale and romantic Empire styling, this console is perfect for an entry, hallway, powder room, or any space where a refined antique accent is desired.  The combination of mahogany, marble, and lyrical design makes it both decorative and historically inspired.
