18th Century Country French Fruitwood Desk was completely hand-crafted by talented rural artisans who desired a sturdy yet slightly stylish overall effect. The solid plank top features corners that are rounded and recessed, with a molded half-bullnose edge. A subtly contoured and molded apron wraps all around, and attaches to the massive scrolled legs with double pegged mortise & tenon joints. The molding trim on the apron curves downward and follows the leg to the hoof feet for visually pleasing continuity. A single drawer with a cast brass key guard adds a touch of functionality. A perfect choice for a sofa table or library table, it was hand-crafted exclusively from old-growth apple wood to last for centuries. Note the Star of Bethlehem inlaid at the center of the desk for a special finishing touch!
