19th Century Country French Rustic Desk ~ Writing Table

19th Century Country French Rustic Desk ~ Writing Table was fashioned entirely from seasoned old-growth hardwoods, and features a single drawer fitted with a steel handle.  The top was fashioned from two large planks of solid wood, with solid aprons all around connected to the posts that serve as the legs via double-pegged mortise & tenon joinery.  The legs are also connected below with a classic "H" stretcher that provides rigidity while keeping the cross piece in the center to allow maximum foot room.  All the character and patina of over a century and a half of use are visible, yet this desk ~ table will most definitely soldier on well into the 21st century!
