19th Century French Louis Philippe Pine Secretary ~ Bookcase is an unusual combination of tailored elegance melded with a casual impression providing both storage and a work surface, all in one!  Hand-crafted from solid pine, it features the trademark classically inspired architecture with a minimum of embellishment found in the molding detail, the mitered corners, and brass key guards.  The base features the only scrolled contour with the apron, and pediment style legs provides support.  Two surprisingly capacious cabinets are in the design, both above and below, with doors that open without a stile for unimpeded access to the shelves and surfaces within.  At the middle, this piece truly stands apart with a drop front panel that opens to create a writing surface, while revealing an interior fitted with a full width drawer, six smaller drawers and even a small cabinet!  All drawers are fitted with turned knobs for convenience, making this intriguing piece as functional as it is visually arresting.
