19th Century French Louis XIV Walnut Writing Table ~ Library Table represents a tailored expression of the style crafted from fine French walnut for an understated elegance.  The relatively spacious surface is finished all around in a double beveled design, overlooking a paneled apron defined by rectilinear molding detail which is accented with raised diamonds on the cornerposts.  The drawer facade is enhanced with a single carved embellishment between the drawers themselves, which are fitted with amazingly detailed solid brass bale pulls with guards.  Support on all four corners is provided by legs intricately turned from solid walnut posts that are embellished below with acanthus plumes, and fitted above and below with plinth blocks.  Small decorative corbels flank the upper blocks which also have tailored rosettes for a subtle style flair.  The legs' blocks below are connected with an elegantly scrolled "H" stretcher, then fitted with large turned feet in urn forms.  The list is long that includes how many different uses such a table can find in the home or office!
