19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Writing Table represents the epitome of the Rococo style!  Starting with the violin-shaped top, which features a double beveled edging framing the oriented-grain veneering of the top, its framework consists of an apron which is literally a work of art from all angles!  Carved with full relief sculpting, each apron depicts a stylized, asymmetrical shell at the center flanked by wildflower and foliate sprays blended into the fine molded detailing that extends to each corner which consists of elegantly scrolled cabriole legs that affix to the bottom of the table top and are continuous to the floor, lavished with complementary motifs including scrolled feet with foliate carvings reaching upwards to encompass the connection to four double-scrolled and carved stretchers that meet at the center with a stunning Rococo sculpture capturing the essence of the style in a lifelike, asymmetrical scallop shell lavished with foliates creating an unforgettable visual effect.  The sheer natural beauty of the hand-selected, sumptuous French walnut cannot be denied, as the wood is considered by all experts to be the finest indigenous European furniture wood in history.  Concealed in one of the long-sided aprons above is a full width drawer making this an excellent choice as a writing table, or perhaps just a convenient and capacious side table that is an amazing work of art no matter from which angle it's viewed!
