19th Century French Renaissance Barley Twist Writing Table makes the perfect choice for a student desk, a family room, or a library! Hand-crafted from dense, old-growth oak, it features clockwise & counter-clockwise barley twist columns in a doubled pattern on each side for support, as well as across its width to reinforce the uprights. The feet consist of scrolled legs carved with lions' heads. The top is a solid plank design to provide decades of daily use, and is edged with hand-carved demilune foliate motif. The shallow casework is carved in relief on all four sides, with a lion's head flanked by scrolled foliates, and the full width drawer utilizes a lion's head as a pull. Four turned pendant finals adorn each corner for a fine finishing touch.
