19th Century French Renaissance Revival Writing Desk in Stripped Oak

19th Century French Renaissance Revival Writing Desk in Stripped Oak is an excellent choice as a compact desk for use with laptops & tablets, and sized to work in just about any cozy space!  Timeless Renaissance-inspired carvings appear on all four sides, giving it the ability to be placed in the center of the room if so desired.  Demilune gadrooning with a fletching motif surrounds the entire plank top.  Bold rosettes appear on each corner and between the drawers.  The drawers feature carved grapevines which form the handles.  The sides and front continue the grapevine motif in wonderful relief.  Support is provided by four barley twist legs, which in turn are connected and strengthened by barley twist stretchers in a classic "H" design, centered with a bold carved finial atop  a rosette-embellished plinth block.  Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary non-petrochemical process to reveal the natural beauty and patina of the old-growth oak!
