19th Century French Walnut Louis XV Marble Top Secretary is a masterpiece of the cabinetmaker's art!  The luxuriously veined marble top provides a carefree yet elegant surface.  Below the finely molded top is a full width drawer adorned with undulating naturalistic molded detail typical of the style.  The drawer is flanked by carvings on the cornerposts, leading the eye down to the main drop-down cabinet which creates a desktop working surface when lowered.  When closed, its magnificent carved detail represents the essence of the Rococo movement with stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs surrounded by exquisitely scrolled molding detail.  Three drawers below the desk emulate the stylings of the topmost drawer, and all are fitted with bronze key guards for an elegant touch.  The scrolled apron below features an asymmetrical shell and foliate motif, and is flanked by boldly scrolled and carved legs.  Perfect as a 21st Century desk with a minimal footprint on your floor space!
