19th Century Italian Painted Secretary ~ Bookcase is a fanciful and marvelous expression of the unique stylistic flair that originated in Venice centuries ago.  The Baroque-inspired architecture includes a boldly arched triple crown, curvaceous arches on the doors and slant front, and corbel-shaped legs.  Painted completely inside, outside and even on the back, the artisans used the molding details and the flats of the painted panels to create original works of art centered around romantic themes that have been popular during the late 17th century.  Multiple earth tones are combined to create the scenes, set in intricately scrolled painted border work highlighted in gold, all of which has attained a lovely patina over the decades.  The painted scenery not only appears on the exterior, but even on the inside of the four cabinet doors, allowing one to leave them open to reveal the painted interior and create a memorable, unique display that is all your own!  Slant front drops down to create a splendid work surface perfect for laptops and tablets, with an interior shelf and two small accessory drawers.  Shelves above and below also provide plenty of storage, display and organizational possibilities.
