19th Century Louis Philippe Period Mueche Mahogany Secretary with Bookcase is a superlative example of fine French craftsmanship that will command everyone's attention the minute they walk into the room!  Crafted from exotic mueche mahogany imported from the Americas, it features a stately upper tier with finely detailed molding surrounding the generously glazed cabinet doors that house the four fully adjustable shelves with mahogany face trim, creating five surfaces.  Note the attention to detail in the finish of the upper interior which allows one to display books, collections or family heirlooms with utter distinction!  The serpentine curved drop front is beautiful when closed thanks to the sheer natural beauty of the wood, but cams out when it opens to position over your lap, while simultaneously revealing an amazingly versatile work area with a desktop more than adequate for a laptop on the original leather surface with cubby storage and a pair of small stationery drawers concealed within.  Below the drop front desktop is a full desk accommodating no less than 9 drawers for exceptional storage options!  Truly a remarkable feat of craftsmanship from a bygone era~
