Antique Country French Louis XIV Secretary Desk

Antique Country French Louis XIV Secretary Desk was sculpted by master artisans from solid old-growth oak, and features a superbly contoured slant front similar in shape to an open book, with arbalette forms on the pair of drawers underneath the desk.  Carved motif include fishscales, stylized shells, florals and foliates sculpted right into the solid wood.  Large cast brass key guards add a nice visual touch.  Scrolled and carved legs appear all around, with a finely contoured and carved apron between them.  The slant front drops down to create a splendid work surface with a cubby hole and five interior drawers making this as functional as it is beautiful to admire!
