Antique Country French Louis XIV Secretary in Stripped Oak is an exquisite example of the cabinetmaker's art!  Crafted from solid planks of prime white oak, it features the classic slant front design which opens to create a desktop surface perfect for today's laptops and tablets.  The entire piece is less than 20 inches deep, making it very space efficient, but when the desk surface is opened, there's plenty of workspace.  Cubby holes and a pair of interior drawers only add to the functionality.  Two full width drawers below the desk provide ample storage in style.  The carved embellishment, though, is truly eye-catching!  The slant front features an exquisite shell design with foliates and flowers set on an arbalette background.  The drawers are a bit more subtle, with intertwined scrolls and folaites, accented with cast brass pulls and key guards.  The apron is meticulously carved with cross hatching on a scrolled form, with a pierce-carved foliate centerpiece, all supported by scrolled and carved legs with cloven hoof feet.
