Antique Country French Regence Style Secretary ~ Bookcase combines elegant display above with storage below and a drop-front desktop surface ~ all rolled into one!  The boldly arched crown centered with a shell with foliate sprays overlooks the display case below, glazed on all three sides making interior lighting unnecessary.  Even the center stile is glazed with decorative carved wood overlay!  Two shelves and three surfaces provide plenty of options for storing books, collectibles or keepsakes.  The slant front casework below has been lavished with the sculptor's hand to depict stylized shell, foliate and scrollwork in relief.  Two pull-out struts under the slant front provide support for the desk surface when it's opened, which also reveals four small interior drawers and two capacious cubby holes, all making the perfect work station for your laptop or tablet.  Under the desk are two full width drawers, fitted with cast brass pulls and carved with relief work that complements the slant front above.  The entire affair is supported by two graceful cabriole legs that have been adorned with foliate sprays carved onto the shoulders, and then tipped with cloven hoof feet.
