Antique Country French Secretary ~ Bookcase

Antique Country French Secretary ~ Bookcase is an all-in-one instant office!  Ideal as a kitchen recipe center, student desk, or a way to display keepsakes and heirlooms as well as tidy up a little paperwork, this is a wonderfully versatile design.  Rendered from solid oak, it features a chapeau de gendarme crown overlooking the arched glazed doors below, each fitted with eight panes.  Inside are glass shelves which allow maximum ambient light to show off your display.  The finely carved slant-front below the display opens to reveal a clever workspace with cubby holes and drawers, and the surface is supported by two pull-outs just above the full width drawers below.  The drawers are beautifully carved to complement the design, and are fitted with single brass pulls in the Rococo manner.  Support is provided by elegantly scrolled & carved apron with scrolled and carved cabriole legs for a splendid finishing touch.
