Antique Country French Secretary ~ Bookcase is a study in grace and elegance with the added luxury of efficiency!  At once creating a display case, storage, and a concealed workspace, all with incredible style and flair, it is the choice of discriminating collectors who like to use their antiques as well as admire them!  The boldly arched crown is centered with a stylized shell and foliate carving, with more carving appearing on the bonnet leading down to the shoulders with rounded cornerposts.  Very subtle carved embellishments adorn the cornerposts, which flank the two arched and glazed upper tier doors, separated by a carved frame member that helps support the hand-rolled glass, and accented with cast brass key guards.  Below the upper tier is the slant front section, carved with beautiful stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs surrounded by intricate molded detail, all rendered in fine bas relief.  A centered brass key guard indicates the access point, and when opened, it is reinforced by two pull out supports, and reveals a work surface perfect for a laptop or tablet, and no less than six interior drawers perfect for keeping your what-nots organized.  Below the desk are two spacious drawers for extra storage, lavished on the facade with the continuing motif of stylized shell, floral and foliates, and centered with cast brass key guards.  Elegant cabriole legs and cloven hoof feet provide support.
