Antique Country French Secretary in the Regence Style is a masterwork of the cabinetmaker's art, performed as only the French can do!  Utilizing indigenous old-growth oak, the artisans sculpted the casework with a slant-front drop down desk surface design, and a pair of drawers with a subtle scroll called arbalette in French.  The apron continues that form, leading to the pair of elegantly but subtly scrolled cabriole legs.  The embellishments are all hand-carved right into the piece, not applied, and include a scrolled gallery rail on top to keep things in place, which overlooks the aforementioned slant-front lavished with stylized shell and foliate motifs on scrolled & raised panels.  Complementary carvings appear on the drawers and apron below, which are also fitted with cast brass pulls and key guards.  Shells and scrollwork also adorn the legs.  When the slant-front is opened and resting atop the two pull-out supports, it reveals a nice work surface perfect for a laptop or tablet, with four small drawers and two cubby holes for added convenience.  Perfect for the efficient workspace, executed in inimitable French style!
