Antique French Gothic Partner's Desk and Armchair Set

Antique French Gothic Partner's Desk and Armchair Set includes an extraordinarily functional and stylish desk paired with its original matching armchair for an instant office set!  Solid oak all around includes a parquet top with broad diamond forms.  Simple panels on the sides contrast with the carved panels on the front and reverse, which are not only identical in appearance, but when one opens the doors, the cabinet configurations within are the same on both sides.  The design provides a nice sized kneehole, and is raised up by urn form legs also carved for detail.  Steel bale pulls and strap hinges add a nostalgic touch.  Original matching armchair is nicely proportioned with a carved seat back panel that matches the desk cabinets, and urn forms on the legs that also match the desk legs.  Finely contoured armrests tipped with acanthus leaf scrolls provide added comfort.
