Antique French Louis XV Table ~ Desk

Antique French Louis XV Table ~ Desk works as a dining table as well as an elegant desk!  Hand-crafted from finely grained oak, it features curvaceous naturalistic forms typical of the genre, with contoured and beveled plank top supported by a scrolled apron lavished with architectural forms, scrollwork, foliates and floral carvings.  Four impressive cabriole legs provide support, and are carved with complementary scrollwork, foliates and floral ~ all done in bold relief on all four sides.  The legs are finished with cloven hoof feet and connected by scrolled stretchers that meet in the middle adorned with a sunflower rosette.  The short ends each pull out to reveal cleverly concealed drawers, making it as functional as it is beautiful to behold!
