Antique French Louis XVI Mahogany Secretary ~ Commode with Carrara Marble exudes an elegance that cannot be denied.  Although it appears to be a wonderful example of the timeless French chest of drawers, or commode, it features a top drawer that opens to reveal a secretary desk, making it most useful and convenient especially for the bedroom or office.  The desk surface is embossed faux leather, and features a cubby hole flanked by small interior drawers.  The other two drawers of the piece are traditional full width designs, able to hold copious amounts of pretty much anything.  The richness of the exotic imported mahogany is amplified by the brass molding trim, collars and tips on the tapered legs, ring pulls with guards and most notably, the finely detailed key guards.  Topped with luxurious Carrara marble beveled and contoured to follow the casework contours, it is destined to be an instant family heirloom!
