Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Walnut Double Sided Desk

Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Walnut Double Sided Desk is a remarkable example of fine craftsmanship by talented French artisans utilizing indigenous, sumptuous walnut for a lasting impression and durable heirloom!  The stately, tailored architecture inspired by classical Greece and Rome was created using no less than eight tapered and fluted column legs, connected in fours with contoured stretchers.  The legs support a striking casework which houses seven drawers on the "back" side, a pull out surface extension on each end, and a pull out extension even on the "front" side.  The main surface and front extension are fitted with tooled faux leather for a comfortable writing surface.  The two facades are otherwise identical in appearance excepting the keyholes and drawer pulls that are only on the "back" side.  Fluted and scrolled pilasters topped with rosettes appear atop each leg and corner providing a classical framework that is visually captivating making this instant family heirloom attractive from any viewing angle.  The functionality of such a desk is incomparable, as well, simulating a much larger desk yet one that takes up a normal sized footprint when all extensions are tucked in.
