Antique Italian Louis XIV Neoclassical Walnut Desk with Faux Leather Top combines timeless architecture inspired by the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, coupled with ornamentation derived from the Baroque period enjoyed by Louis XIV himself!  Created from hand-select walnut, the casework consists of an upper tier fitted with two large drawers, more than enough storage for today's computerized office requirements.  The surface is covered in weathered faux leather for a realistic look, framed by the sumptuous walnut which has been given a gadrooned edge in the egg & dart motif.  Finished on all four sides, it features exquisite foliate styling in relief all across the front and each side, continuing to the edge of the aforementioned drawers which contrast the embellishment with tailored molding and twisted ring bale pulls.  The casework rests upon a sturdy support system consisting of two sides depicting lyre forms expressed in lavishly carved upturned corbels.  A dividing panel for each lyre form is joined together across the width with a carved trestle, lavished with Greek coin overlay and centered with a motif complementing the apron above.  Bold, massive pediments serve as the feet, and contribute to the above-average knee clearance that a soon-to-be-happy new owner will come to enjoy.
