Antique Italian Renaissance Walnut Desk ~ Table is an exquisite example of fine artistry and craftsmanship, rendered in beautiful indigenous wood!  The spacious top is framed by a two-tiered edging consisting of fishscale over a variation of dentil molding.  The tailored apron is trimmed with another tier of molding, then the magic really begins with the two side supports.  Each consists of a boldly carved panel depicting a regal lion's head on an heraldic crest background.  The shape is transformed with the addition front and back of fantastic gryffins~ winged lions set upon upturned corbels.  The entire affairs rest upon a bold "H" structure that is defined by fully carved edging all around, supported by four life-sized carved lion's paw feet.  Ideal as a library table, a conference table, even for dining ~ and with today's digital workplace, an exceptional executive's desk!
