Country French Liègeois Régence Style Stripped Oak Writing Table was crafted in solid oak and stripped to reveal the pale, natural beauty of the wood.  Elegant and sculptural in form, the table is distinguished by its graceful cabriole legs, refined hoof feet, and richly carved apron, all of which reflect the fluid ornament and decorative sophistication associated with the Régence period.
The apron is beautifully shaped and adorned with carved shellwork, scrolling foliate detail, and lattice-pattern panels, with the carving continuing around the sides so the piece can be floated attractively in a room.  Two drawers are integrated into the design with no visible pulls, allowing the carved facade to remain especially clean and uninterrupted.
The combination of expressive carving, elegant movement, and light stripped finish gives the table a romantic yet restrained presence.  Equally suited as a writing desk, library table, or occasional center table, it brings warmth, craftsmanship, and French provincial refinement to an interior.
