Set of 12 Napoleon III Period Painted Dining Chairs possess a regal elegance that cannot be denied!  The combination of classical design and timeless naturalistic motifs are the essence of the genre, expressed here in solid walnut, with an original painted finish that has achieved a lovely patina over the past century, made only more alluring by the gold highlights that accentuate the beautiful carved accents that appear on the arched seatback crown, with a motif that is inspired by rams' horns with scrolls, florals and foliates to complement the design.  The remainder follows a neoclassical form, with tailored lines, pyramidal accent blocks, and beautifully tapered, fluted & reeded front legs.  The back legs are made extra sturdy and flared out for maximum stability, as well.  Upholstery is serviceable but should be replaced with your coordinating fabric.
