Set of 6 Country French Fruitwood Rush Seat Dining Chairs are a classic example of the charming provincial chairs that have been providing casual dining enjoyment for centuries!  Crafted from abundant old-growth fruitwood, each features a double arched seatback crown carved with stylized shell and foliate motifs, with contoured frameworks including two double arched back splats and cabriole style legs in front with carved detailing.  Turned stretchers are applied in abundance to strengthen the design without adding weight, complemented by the hand-woven rush seat chairs which are comfortable as is, and even more so with a cushion, as is the custom.  Light in visual as well as actual weight, they're a great choice for informal dining and breakfast rooms.
Circa mid-1900s
