Set of Six Antique French Directoire Style Painted Dining Chairs combine stylish elegance with comfort, all with a subtle, pleasing visual effect that is ideal for today's decors!  The scrolled-back, flared seatbacks of the design were inspired by ancient Egyptian concepts, and are contoured to provide surprising comfort.  The generous seats add to that comfort level, both of which have been recently upholstered in a very high-quality, neutral colored composite tapestry fabric.  The legs consist of single posts in the back that extend from the floor to the top of the chair, with turned column legs in front mounted to plinth blocks carved with rosettes, and highlighted with a pleasing olive green that contrasts with the washed, pastel mustard color of the painted finish, which has achieved a lovely patina over the past decades.  The upholstery beautifully picks up these colors for a stunning effect!
