19th Century French Cherrywood Drop Leaf Dining Table with Leaves is a remarkable example of ingenious craftsmanship, expressed by French artisans in a manner also common to English furniture makers.  In this case, select cherry wood was hand-picked to create the work, including six solid timbers turned to create the elegant legs.  The center legs are affixed to a dovetailed glider mechanism that allows the outer legs and apron assemblies to open up providing room to install one or two of the original cherry wood leaves.  In an effort to create the epitome of efficiency, the base table is round for most usages, but even sports drop leaves on each side making this piece small enough to serve as a sofa table when fully collapsed, yet expand with both drop leaves supported by pull-outs, then with the two leaves to create a table that can easily accommodate eight!  With 25" of knee clearance under the apron, it sports 28" under the inserted leaves for your long-legged guests.  The perfect combination of elegance, beauty, efficiency and ingenuity!
