19th Century Rustic Country French Trestle Banquet Table was designed for a larger family, and intended to last for generation after generation.  Hand-crafted from dense, old-growth oak, it features thick planks for the top, supported by a minimal apron all around that is recessed on the ends allowing armchairs to nestle up to the head and foot of the table unlike many examples of the breed.  Small decorative corbels transition the apron to the sturdy legs, each turned from a large piece of oak, then connected to each other by a classic "H" trestle using pegged mortise & tenon joinery, a technique used for centuries in woodworking that has been passed down from one generation to the next, just as this table was meant to be!
