Antique Country French Farm Table with Two Benches

Antique Country French Farm Table with Two Benches is a wonderful find, and perfect for any rustic dining room!  Hand-crafted from solid planks of old growth elm wood, it was designed to literally last for centuries.  The thick plank top rests upon an apron that is recessed on both ends, making seating at those locations comfortable, unlike the majority of such tables.  The apron planks are joined to the large plinth blocks at the top of the turned legs via double pegged mortise & tenon technique.  The "H" stretcher below adds structural stability, and is attached to the legs with the same method, creating a sturdy reinforcement that provides maximum footroom at the same time.  Pair of matching benches, with shimmed trestles and turned legs, were created from single thick planks of elm and make the perfect companions!
